Christmas at Mount Pleasant

Are you on your own for Christmas?

All too frequently Christmas is a time of great loneliness, sadness and depression for those with no one else to share this time with.

It does not have to be that way.

Whether single or a couple on your own, I invite you to join us to share a joyous Christmas Day together.

Now also extended to anyone who has been flooded out and not able to have Christmas at their home.

A full lunch of tasty vegan festive fayre will be provided. (see the poem “Talking Turkeys” by Benjamin Zephaniah as a tribute to him on his death - 7th December 2023)

See the full menu here

Arrival: anytime from 10:30 am.
Lunch will be served around 1:00pm.

We would expect to finish around 8:00pm (but flexible depending on how great a time we are all having).

There is no charge for this day. Although if you are able to contribute in any way, that would be welcome (wine, song, laughter, etc).
If you play an instrument, please bring it with you in case we feel inclined to burst into song!

The aim is to start a tradition of hosting real Christmases that turn their back on the commercialised event that Christmas has become, spending money that many cannot afford on what will quickly become environmental pollution and landfill. It costs little to celebrate the real spirit of Christmas that is human kindness, compassion & connection, and is pollution free.

To read how this event came about read my story here.
